Nael is 4!

My dearest darling Zul Arif Nael...

It was 4 years back, 21st of May 2003 at around 1:30pm, I held you in my arms and we were overcome with so much joy and emotions to see such a beautiful and healthy baby. Despite the knot of your umbilical cord which can be fatal and your neck was wrapped and twisted by them, alhamdullilah you were protected by Allah, you were safe and most importantly healthy. Bringing you up was not an easy task especially on the health department but who would want to remember? We cherish every single little thing from your wet diapers to your cutesy little smile and now we, your parents go crazy with your wicked foolish manja expression that you flash from time to time. We are your biggest fan and we would die to make you a one happy boy. We love you to the bits sayang and with so much pride and joy we're looking forward to have another 100 years to be with you.

Color blind? and prezzie

I recall when Nael was around 4 plus when we first have our maid joined our household, it was in 2007 (Nov). His eyes were big and mortified when he first saw our maid. My maid was actually had tough life back in Indonesia where she worked in her sawah bendang dan kerja ladang (we were told) so basically she was overly tanned, boleh dikatakan "gelap". From then on, he always say "Ummi white, papa white, Aidan white, Bibik brown" Each time I hear this I will "shesshhhhh" , "No!!" , " Tak baik cakap gitu ". But I never really stress on that seeing that he is just a kid and maybe fascinated on describing objects with colors.


Then, one day his conversation went like this :-

Nael : Bibik...lepas twelve apa?

Bibik : eight? (with her limited english)

Nael : Noooooo..wrong...Itulaa bibik nie tak tau sebab Bibik brown.

urrgghhh!! *horror*

Initially, we treat it as humour but then until last Friday.....


Moi : Tengah makan and suap Aidan

Nael : poo poo in the toilet and summoned me to clean him

Bibik offered to wash but Nael very adamant that his Ummi yang buat. I was so annoyed and ask Bibik to just do it..Then when they were done, Nael still crying in the room and Bibik told me this

Nael kata " Nael tak nak Bibik wash, nanti bontot Nael BROWN!!"

ROTFL!!!! but then I realised, he was very serious about it. I played along and asked him to show me, he even tunjuk his bare bontot!! What is it with my maid being brown?? *&)(&(^^&^*%$

3) Small bottle Not big bottle like in Mak Ngah's room (I think it's perfume)

4) Ultraman

Suffice to say, I received none of the above except for Birthday song and 3 kisses, left cheek, lips and right cheek.

Nael is 6!

Let's do some recap on his milestone from 5.5 to 6 years old.

Nael is currently reading Dr Seuss's Hop on Pop which he finds it hilarious, Bacalah Sayang and also some of his school materials that is Book 16 for his English reading. He is an average for his reading skills and I'm currently coaching him to do Math from Year 1 book, plus some other Math, English, Bahasa work book bought from some bookshops. He will do one of these activity after he's done with his school homework. He's doing okay for his academic which I have no worry on that and he's now started to speak English again (albeit he needs help in rephrasing his sentences).

He's still into Ben 10 and Ben 10 Force and one funny thing he loves to watch PPG too which I find it quite hilarious. He has some new games for his PSII, some sort of samurai lawan2. He said it's Basara and since he joined TKD classes, he will demonstrate what he learns after each class. His 'new student' is off course his adik :P, the great impersonator :) . Nael latest interest is playing badminton with his cousins, his papa bought him racket for small hand like his, very cute! Alternately, we have been playing freesbie with the kids. Nael instantly fell in love with this game and also he asked for a kite for his birthday. Ehh wait..he asked for so many things for his birthday like roller blades *roll eyes*.

Personality wise...he's obidient type, shy in public, very rajin related to education ie doing homework, reading, what not. He shows his intimacy towards his loves ones, very technical little young man, very drawn into gadgets and quite sensitive about what other peoples think or act towards him.

Health wise...looks like he's allergic to dust, cats fur, he can easily has running nose with teary eyes and sneezing too. Phlemy cough and flu are his 2 best friends :( Still very skinny around 17kg. Eat moderately and very slow too unlike Aidan :P but one thing positive, he would want to taste a lot more variety of food like curry and sambal. I think that's a great achievement for a fussy boy like him.


Nael sayang, Ummi and Papa love you sooooo much and we pray that you will turn out to be a good young man and be blessed by Allah swt in your life. May you be anak yang soleh, disayangi dan disenangi oleh semua, Insyallah. Happy 6th Birthday Sayang, from your loving parents and your die hard fan Aidan :)

Nael at 5.5 yrs old

This Nov month, Nael's turns to 5.5 years old and it's a high time that Ummi jot a few of his accomplishments, milestone indeed for our future readings ;)

Character building - he's more independent, he showers on his own, albeit sometimes I peek just to ensure he showers in the right order, hair and body shampooed and everything is properly cleansed, etc. Sometimes, Ummi or papa has to force him out of the shower, cutting short his joy splashing with water. He can pee on his own w/o supervision but we have to remind him constantly on how he has to clean himself "dicky dah basuh? tangan dah basuh?" but on the big business side, errr that we still have to clean up for him :P

He's very inquisitive, we the parents always have to entertain his 5 Ws, sometimes I just go "yeahhh...uhumm, arggg..ehh ye ker? ok... yes..ohh??.. noooo!" so much of entertaining his queries :(. He's very loving towards his brother AIdan but sometimes very imposing as a big brother. He is quite an obidient boy and I can relate how he perservere on resisting to have any cold drinks/sweets/ice cream due to his coughing/flu or he has run up of his max of sugar intake for the day. He knows his schedule well too. In the morning, every weekday, he will take out his book and read with his papa and after coming back from kindly, he will diligently read his surahs with his nenek and once reach our house, he will do his kindy homework while watching his CN. Before he goes to bed, he will shi2 first, wash his hands and feet and also brush his teeth deligently. So, I'm very please with that.

On the other hand, yang Ummi dia tak tahan, he can be very whiny at times..grrrr...sometime he does his baby like acting, crying and whimpering tak pasal2 and ask me to pujuk. When we deny something from him which is always buying toys for him, he will ask gazillion times when we can buy him this toy or that toy OR when can he has this toy and that particular toy already broken albeit we said No earlier..subtly but persistently..itu yg Ummi dia tak tahan tu hehehe...but when he gets something that he really likes...ohh goshh...he'll profusely says "thank you Ummi, thank you papa" baik jer...

He also has a bigger appetite than before right after he consumed Lysene vitamin. His likes for food varies and the best part, he eats vege! green vege to be exact!! It all started when we told him Superman eats carrot and he bought that! hahahaha..He loves cakes, choc cake the best and deifinetly a sweet tooth himself.

Academic wise, his Teacher Mala said he's quite a shy boy, only with his friends, he is ok, playing with them but whenever his teacher asks him any question, he just refuse to answer but all his work, he can do it on his own. His teacher even praised him, he did not need much help on his studies, he does all his workbook on his own, his Math is really good and so does his writing, one of the best! mehh must be taking after his papa's gene :)

Nael is 5!

I have been longing to write about Nael, his achievements, his milestone, his charm, his attitude towards his baby brother and other gazillion things but my mind is always about thinking of the day to day happenings, the office, the family, the baby, the chores...

I remember a week before I gave birth to Aidan is the most precious moments I have with Nael. we were so closed, we were like one , in a love cacoon , touching, kissing, huggings and I pampered him a lot, knowing that my time with him will be very limited with the new arrival. Each day for that one week, he was with me, we didn't send him over to his nenek's house, I did what every mother does to her kids, wake him up from sleep, drag him to shower, brush teeth, cuci bontot (poo time) , cooked b'fast, then luch hour came, we had lunch outings, bought him cheap toys from 7-11, spent the whole afternoon watching ceria (until i got really sick with ultraman, kampung boy and such), waited for papa to come home from office, dinner, then play and read with him, watched tv until late night, huggie huggie, kissy kissy ...that's what we did everyday for about a week. Then came Aidan, I was happy but at the same time sadness crept up in me when I started to hold the baby, I felt so distant with Nael esp during the confinement. Pity him really, tv was his peer, no one to layan him. As a mother you can feel his lost and the craving for attention, what more when you hold your baby, he demanded to be held exactly like the baby. Sometimes I snapped at him for slamming the door and woke up the baby and me :( He also see less of his papa during that period as papa was really busy in the office, so to compensate for the time lost and also to divert his attention, hubby bought him a playstation :P and a few other toys that were really expensive (which I'm totally against it). So bermulalah cerita Nael with his new addiction....

PSII : oh boy...it's really a boy thingy..small boys, big boys, they are the same, tak mau makan, tak mau tido, tak mau mandi. The funny thing is when you see them fighting over the watchamacalit, remote/joystick, apa2lah..the wars and battles, the roar, the cheers, the jeers, the excitements, the slamming, the thumb cramp, the tired eyes , the aching body was speechless. The first game he played was ultraman and Cars, then came the rest, Spiderman, Tomb Raider, Sonic, Golden Compass, Hot Wheels, Ben10 (the latest) and many more. I can tell you he's really good with them, some games he managed to get to the high level as high as level 7 for spiderman. One thing you hv to bear in mind he can't really read but he can manouvere the menu easy peasy but some instructions, we have to tell and guide him. Another clever note he even thought his papa on some great moves hehehe..sometimes I saw them exchanging ideas, kinda like knowledge sharing hahaha..very cute!


Nael loves his baby brother. Whenever Aidan cries for milk, he would summon me "cepatla mimi, aidan nak nenen nieee, bagila nenen ummi tu.." and he loves saying this when Aidan was abt3-4 mths.."alaaabudak comel nie, senyum pulak dia.." while tickling Aidan's cheek. But now Aidan is 9 mths old,quite aggresive and playful with toys, the big brother somehow has developed "this toy is mine and that's yours" and sometimes "THIS is mine and THAT is mine too". Pity Aidan but we are not going to let it happen anymore, we constantly remind him to share, this is your baby brother, you have to love him, etc...Nevertheless, we can tell that he can't get enough of his baby brother.





Since, he joined C3C in Jan and he's already reading Book 6. He can read page by page in Eng and his word bank is increasing tremendeuosly. Recently we received his math paper and not bad at all with his perfect score for addition, bigger and smaller numbers. Not only that, he even can recite surahs : fatihah, ikhlas, an-nas, al falaq, al-asr, lahab, kafiroon, from his nenek's computer :) Sometimes, he even perform solat on his own reciting surah that he's comfortable with albeit 5 rakaats for Isya' :)





Today is 21st May and it has been 5 years we have him. Thank you Allah for the most precious gift of all : anak2.

His Big Day

On the 3rd January 2008, I took half day off just to be with my lovey dovey grown up boy, Nael for his 1st day of school. Not big school though. Remember an incident last year, June 2007 where he was punched by his classmate (too bad I can't refer to my archive). After that gory mory incident, we took him out from K@fa and as expected Nael was very delighted with the idea of not going to school anymore. Basically we were very upset with the principal in how she handled the case plus other things as well which I should not dwell much about them, needless to say, my respect was pulled to a lower scale. In last 6 mths, Nael was confined at home, he was very traumatized esp when you mention about school. Need I say more, he hated school *shudder*. In December, we made up our mind to register him at C3C kindy which is nearby to my mother in law's house, paid everything and we even brought him tour the school. Can you imagine, when were at the school's doorstep, Nael was very shaky and asked to be carried? That show how much he was terrified with 'school'.

So, last week, moi and my other half escorted him to the school, with his oversized uniform, dia buat muka monyok. I had talked to his teacher and briefly explained Nael's character and she assured me everything will be A OK *legaaa*. We stood outside the classroom and from time to time we peeked in, guess what we saw? Nael gave a thumb up HAHAHA....The whole class had an orientation ie: computer room kat mana, toilet mana, sinki mana, swimming pool mana, they had a break with snack and my shy boy even ate 4 biskut lemak!! and rounds of orange juice :P By 10:30am we were at home and this boy of mine can't stop talking about his new school. Yay!! *ummi very the lega*

On 7th Jan, again we sent him to the kindy just to ensure he's comfortable enough with his new environment. Macam tak percaya jer, Nael followed the teacher's instruction well and today he even called my mobile and menceceh how clever he is to be able to write numbers from 1 to 10 hehehe.... Oh yess...he even told me "ka cau (Kah Chau) cried, kesian diaaaa..." amboiiii!!

I just hope and pray that he will enjoy more of his time with his new friends at this new kindy and put all the ugly scenes and unhappy state behind.
